Collect artwork from children (3–5 pieces), and provide a brief written descriiption of each child (age, grade, gender, prior experiences, etc.), and describe the stage of artistic development the child is exhibiting using the information and children’s artwork featured in Chapter 4 to support your analysis. Hint: Asking for 3–5 samples increases the likelihood you will collect and analyze a good variety. You may make a copy of the art with a cell phone camera or use a copying machine for scanning. For this activity, you will include the following:
Age
Grade
Gender
Family information
Copies of the artwork
One-page descriiption of the state of artistic development the child is exhibiting based on your chapter readings and what it means for development in each of the developmental domains (physical, language, social, emotional, and cognitive)

Take a nature walk to find the five elements of art in nature. Variation: Visit a habitat where students can sketch or create a visual representation (photos) of natural art elements (you might visit the zoo, botanical gardens, community gardens, a river walk, or the beach). For example, a spider web that depicts lines, shapes, and space, or a pond habitat that most likely contains all of the art elements. For this activity, you will include the following:
A sketch or photo for each of the five elements of art found in nature
For each sketch or photo, you will describe which element of art is depicted and what makes you think that element is represented
Connections to and citations of course-related materials, following APA format
Using a large poster board, create a photo collage that represents who you are and highlights what is important to you. You will display your collage in an aesthetically pleasing arrangement using materials of your choice (string, stencils, word art, photos, magazine illustrations, buttons, feathers, etc.). If you prefer to create a digital collage, you may use materials found online from the creative commons OR you may create a digital collage using your own photos (preferred). For this activity, you will include the following:
A good copy of your collage (I must be able to see the collage clearly for full credit
A brief (one paragraph) descriiption of your collage (what it means, materials used)
A two-paragraph reflection describing how the experience made you feel and what you learned through this activity
