professional growth; this assignment is designed to help you. For this assignment, you will
review the ISTE website and create a presentation to define the benefits of joining a professional
organization.
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the link provided with this assignment, carefully review the ISTE website and select a
minimum of three resources (such as ISTE-affiliated journal articles, podcast presentations,
conferences, videos, or blog sites) that promote professional growth. Ensure that at least one
selected resource focuses on professional growth in addressing special needs learners or assistive
technologies. Also, review the website’s information on the most recent ISTE EdTech
Conference.
Once you have selected your resources, create a narrated slideshow presentation that describes
why one should join a professional organization, how an association, such as ISTE, benefits
teachers, and, more specifically, how it could benefit you. You may use any presentation
program that allows for audio recordings, such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi, PowToon,
etc. Your presentation must have 10 – 15 slides (including the required title and reference slides).
Format your presentation accordingly:
1. Provide a title slide with the title of your presentation and your name.
2. Describe why teachers should join a professional organization.
3. Discuss the three ISTE resources you selected by providing the following:
a. Name of the resource.
b. What can a teacher expect to learn from it?
c. How does this resource help you to serve your students?
d. What student population do you see benefiting the most?
4. Review the latest ISTE EdTech Conference. Provide a brief summary of the speakers or
presentations that were offered. Select two sessions you would have been interested in
attending and describe why you selected them.
In addition to your audio narrations of each slide, include a transcriipt of your narrations either in
the notes section of each slide or in a separate Word document. Your audio recordings must be
clear; you must speak in complete, clear, and concise sentences. Provide spoken citations of your
sources in your narrations and in-text citations in your slides. List your references on the
references slide in current APA format.
